I can understand that, I just think it's grown to where it's a mess without it being managed by a CMS. And it doesn't matter how much goes into the CMS on a daily basis, it's also about controlling the information, and how it is found. ATM, one person, maybe 2, could once a week do some things simply ina CMS and make it happen.

Also, updating the forums didn't help stop the spam. So all we have is more spam, and less clarity of data.

You wouldn't need to post anything regularly. Just grab some rss feeds from some other usefull eve sites and show them on the new site (with permission of course). This would keep the content updated and it wouldnt matter if it's not updated by edk to often.

New Forums would be a great idea. Especially a theming forum is missing.

If you want to stop spambots on a phpbb3 forum, your best option is to choose the new "Q&A captcha" option they added recently. Just give it a simple question, like "type eve-dev into this box" and anyone who wants a bot to sign up will have to manually plug that option into their bot. Unfortunately your theme likely doesn't support that option since it's so new, so you'd have to fix the template file (ucp_register.html afaik) to support it.

As a user, i'd have been happier if there was more documentation for the kb in the wiki, cause there's like no explanation anywhere that I could find of a lot of the options/features.
